The UK is set to be hit by a sudden mass chill with temperatures potentially as low as 1C coming to some parts of the country in a matter of hours.
The Met Office has said it will be a "nippy start" to Saturday morning (September 23). Mist patches, rain and all the usual remnants of post-summer misery are set to return.
A low band of pressure marks a change in the weather and a surge in heavy rain for Sunday (September 24). Those in the east of the country will get the worst of it.

Weather maps from WX Charts show temperatures could get as low as 1C in Scotland overnight and into Saturday morning. Even in the south conditions could be as chilly as 6C. The Midlands are expected to stay the warmest.
Moreover, the maps suggest those low temperatures could persist well into the morning with things still expected to be cold by noon.
The Met Office said: "Showers gradually easing from the west during the evening, though a few may linger into the early hours. Dry for most overnight, with clear skies. A chilly night for all, with a rural frost possible in the north.
"A cold start with a grass frost for some. Any mist patches soon clearing. Dry and fine for most. Clouding over from the west with rain reaching Northern Ireland later."
According to Netweather, Saturday will be the "coldest" start to a day so far this year.
Their update added: "The day changes gradually from the west. High cloud will increase, the wind will back to a southerly and freshen then the first of the rain bands will reach Northern Ireland later in the day."
