Perv OAP grabbed stewardess’ crotch on plane as he said ‘I love your perfume’

A pensioner allegedly grabbed a female flight attendant's private parts during a flight as he smelled her perfume.

Gary Matthew Sorichetti made the reported creepy comment on board American Airlines flight 5062 from Sarasota, Florida, to Charlotte, North Carolina, on February 28, 2020.

The 74-year-old now faces federal charges, the Daily Beast reports.

It is claimed that he began behaving inappropriately immediately to the woman named only as SJ after boarding the flight in Sarasota.

Sorichetti allegedly slid his hand up the crew member's thigh in the exchange.

The criminal complaint claims the flight attendant helped Sorichetti and another passenger pass each other in the narrow aisle of the plane.

The accused allegedly stood up, backed into the flight attendant several times and said: "Am I squishing you, are you squishing me?"

The complaint alleges that he held her hips for "approximately three to four seconds" while standing up.

During the interaction, Sorichetti is accused of telling SJ: "Oh, I smell that perfume."

According to the report, as the plane lifted off, Sorichetti, now sitting next to her in the seats usually reserved for crew, “stretched his left arm across SJ’s legs, over the down positioned arm rest, touched her left knee and dragged his hand up her thigh to her crotch area".

The report continues: “SJ was wearing a skirt. Sorichetti’s thumb was on SJ’s inner thigh as he slowly moved his hand up her inner thigh and touched her crotch. SJ told Sorichetti, ‘Don’t do that,’ and Sorichetti quickly moved his hand.”

Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department were called and they in turn contacted the FBI, which has jurisdiction over U.S. aircraft.

It is as yet unclear why it took so long to arrest Sorichetti, with the arrest warrant listing one count of abusive sexual contact.

If convicted he faces up to two years in prison.
