Who is murderer Ikem Affia and where is he now? | The Sun

IKEM Affia murdered a father-of-six in a bungled honeytrap over some Rolex watches.

The items he planned to steal turned out to be fake but in a bizarre twist, it was his own unique clothing that helped police identify him for his part in the crime.

Who is Ikem Affia?

Ikem Affia was part of a gang who targeted Saul Murray with a honeytrap scam in order to rob him.

The 31-year-old travelled to Luton with Cleon Brown hoping, with the help of two women, to steal some Rolex watches.

The females- Surpreet Dhillon and Temidayo Awe – set up the honeytrap after exchanging messages with Murray.

What happened to Saul Murray?

Saul Murray arranged to meet the two women and invited them to his home in Luton on February 26, 2022.

The women were captured on CCTV cameras entering the property.

They shared a brandy and engaged in sexual activities before Surpreet Dhillon put date rape drug GHB in Murray's drink.

It is alleged that the drug administered was not enough to knock out Murray so Awe left the property to go and get their two accomplices, Affia and Brown.

The two men were seen entering the property some 20 minutes later before footage caught the two women leaving together.

They were closely followed by the two men some 19 seconds later.

Affia could clearly be seen brandishing a knife.

Murray was found in his flat the following day having died as a result of heavy bleeding from a stab wound which had pierced an artery.

The intended target of the robbery, some Rolex watches, actually turned out to be fake.

However, the Moncler jacket worn by Affia led police to identify him.

Information from the coat manufacturer revealed that at the time less than 300 of these coats were available in the UK, with just 69 sold online.

One had been sold to Affia’s partner and delivered to his home address the previous year.

He had been spotted wearing the jacket days earlier on CCTV footage at a takeaway food shop in London.

Where is Ikem Affia now?

Affia, of Shore Place, London, was sentenced to life in prison for murder and will have to serve a minimum of 25 years.
