FORECASTERS have revealed the exact date snow and hail will hit Britain.

According to the Met Office, chilly winds from the north are set to blow in and temperatures will once again plunge to -1C in the coming days.



And it could see the white stuff hit parts of the nation in just days.

The Met Office long-range weather forecast has predicted some "wintry showers" and "snow" which could hit as soon as Monday.

Their forecast for the weekend reads: “Often cloudy with a scattering of mainly light showers. 

“Some breaks, mainly to the lee of high ground.

“Becoming colder from the northeast, with snow and hail showers by Monday.”

And it’s thought the white stuff will continue to fall until Wednesday next week.

Forecasters predict: “This period is expected to be characterised by winds from the north bringing cold conditions to most areas. 

“This will most likely result in wintry showers across northern and eastern areas, these turning to more organised bands of snow at times.”

Today Brits will be met with a cold start to the day with the chance of some frost.

The Met Office say: "It is expected to be mainly dry but dull with large areas of cloud and the possibility of a few showers for some.

"The best of the sunshine will occur across southern England and northern Scotland.

"A light to gentle north-easterly breeze."

Tonight is expected to bring dry conditions to the whole of the UK with prolonged clear spells for the south-west of England and Wales and northern Scotland lasting most of the night.

They added: "Elsewhere, cloud will generally be thick and persistent.

"There will be a north-easterly light to gentle breeze."
