Stag and hen dos now offering insurance in case partner dumps you before big day

Stags and hens are being offered protection by party organisers – in case they get dumped before they get drunk.

Last Night Of Freedom is offering bachelors and bachelorettes cover should their trip get canned because the wedding is scrapped.

Research from the Tyneside firm shows couples calling off their nuptials is the biggest reason stag and hen parties don’t go ahead.

Boss Matt Mavir said: “We probably have somewhere between 50 and 60 couples a year who break up before the stag or hen weekend, so sadly it isn’t unheard of.”

The stag and hen organiser has launched “Love on the Rocks”, believed to be the first product in the world which protects people who get dumped before the wedding.

Aimed at couples who may already be getting cold feet, those who sign up will get their stag or hen party deposit refunded – if they prove they’ve cancelled the wedding before travelling.

Matt added: “Some people become so invested emotionally and financially in the idea of getting married that they ignore any lingering feeling that maybe this person isn’t the one.

“So what this policy offers is peace of mind that, should they get cold feet, they won’t be completely out of pocket.

“And while some people may argue that this isn’t the way to start a marriage, in a world where pre-nups are becoming a standard part of marriage, it is just a sensible option.”
