‘Painful’ massage at ‘dilapidated spa was so forceful it bruised woman’s back’
A "painful" massage at a "dilapidated" spa in France was so forceful it actually bruised a woman's back, she has claimed.
The woman's comments made up one of 10 Tripadvisor reviews that branded Ban Aromdee in Paris "terrible", out of a total of 25 reviews that were hardly glowing.
'Mamalife4' signed up to the site in April 2015 and has only ever left one review, for the hammam and Turkish bath house in the Auteuil district, near the Seine.

The user called her July 2022 trip a "painful experience" and added: "For my part, the welcome was very nice, but on the other hand the massage was horrible… super painful when I told the girl that she was hurting me…"
The woman added a picture to her post, purporting to show the deep bruises on the base of her back caused by a massage.
The business is rated 402 out of 978 spas and wellness centres in the French capital. It has three 'excellent' ratings, four 'very good', three 'average', four 'poor' and 10 'terrible'.
Other visitors shared pictures of the "dilapidated" state of the business. Several of the shots show paint flaking off the walls, as well as mould on the ceiling.
A French woman called Wendy said she too experienced a "catastrophic massage" at Ban Aromdee.
"It was done quickly and painfully," she wrote, rating the business one star out of five.

She added: "My friend and I came out outraged at the speech of the manager who is more than dry and who deserves a good check from URSAFF [French social security and compliance services] to verify the compliance of staff contracts."
Several people claimed the establishment purposely treated them badly because they arrived with a Groupon deal.
One woman, who visited in June 2021, said the staff thought a Groupon deal gave them the "right to [give] a botched treatment!"
"I had back pain for a week after that horrible massage. The worst I have ever experienced," another woman, called Khalida, said last March.
Reviews on other sites, including on Groupon, are generally favourable.
Ban Aromdee has not responded to any of the allegations on Tripadvisor. Management has been contacted for comment.
