Over 100 people are feared trapped after a cable bridge collapsed in Gujarat, India. The incident took place in Morbi on the Machhu river.
There were about 500 people on the bridge when it collapsed.The structure was reportedly renovated just last week.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to Gujarat Chief Minister and other officials regarding the accident.
He has spoken to Gujarat's chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, requesting urgent mobilisation of teams for rescue operations. "He has asked that the situation be closely and continuously monitored, and extend all possible help to those affected," a statement from hsi office said.
