Harry and Meghan’s ‘personal attack on Kate will leave rift for years’
Kate Middleton may not forgive Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for "years" after the pair launched a series of "personal" attacks at the Princess of Wales.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn't hold back criticising their relatives after they famously stepped down from royal duties back in 2020. Kate often found herself on the receiving end of some of the couple's more barbed claims, including that the princess made Meghan "cry" on the former Suits star's wedding day.
Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe, speaking to New! magazine, said the spate of accusations had caused emotional damage it would take the princess a long time to recover from. "Some of what Harry and Meghan have said, particularly about Kate, was so personal, and it's going to take years to heal the hurt because of the damage that's been done," he said.

"It's going to take more than an apology to fix the relationships."
Kate and husband Prince William once made up the "Fab Four" alongside Harry and Meghan before the Sussexes left the Firm to start their own lives in Montecito, California. Since then tensions have remained high between the two couples, with the Stateside pair taking aim at the future King and Queen in multiple tell-all interviews, Netflix documentaries and Harry's memoir, Spare.

It was initially believed Meghan had made Kate weep over bridesmaids' dresses as the Sussexes prepared to tie the knot in 2018. However, Meghan later claimed the "reverse" had happened.
Meghan previously said: "[Kate] was upset about something [related to] flower-girl dresses and it made me cry." Meghan added Kate had apologised, but claimed the incident had then been misreported.
The Duchess of Sussex also reportedly said Kate had a "baby brain", infuriating the Prince and Princess of Wales, who met while studying at the prestigious St Andrews University. The ex-actress even took aim at Kate's apparently formal manner, claiming: "I was a hugger […] I didn't realise that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits."
Larcombe, who penned the book Prince Harry: The Inside Story, added relationships between the Sussexes and their estranged relatives could be "damaged" for a long time to come.He also added Kate and William are unable to respond to the criticism aimed at them and have no choice but to "swallow" Harry and Meghan's claims.
