Disneyland guests saved by firefighters as Pirates of the Caribbean ride ‘sinks’

Disneyland visitors were left stranded on a "sinking" Pirates of the Caribbean ride as firefighters were called.

Guests at the Disneyland resort in Anaheim, California, said they were stuck for an hour on Tuesday (February 7) as water levels on the ride continued to rise.

Shocking footage shared on TikTok showed parkgoers crammed into boats, with their feet hoisted up to avoid the water.

Firefighters appeared at the scene and were able to help people off the boats one-by-one using a wooden plank.

Justin James was on the ride when it malfunctioned. His TikTok of the incident has since been viewed over 1.5million times.

On it, his voiceover says: "POV: You're stuck on the pirates ride @ Disneyland and your boat is literally sinking.

"Disney fire department had to come rescue us.

"After an hour being stuck we finally got off. It was giving six flags energy."

The caption read: "It was a hot mess. Honestly thought we were gonna swim our way out of this."

Justin added: "All they gave us was some $30 (£25) vouchers for socks and single lightning lanes."

Reacting in the comments section, people all seemed to be saying the same thing about one aspect of the rescue.

One comment read: "Damn full experience of pirates they even made you walk the plank."

Another said: "Not y’all having to walk the plank."

The Pirates of the Caribbean ride is located in New Orleans Square at Disneyland's Anaheim park.

It was originally designed by Walt Disney in the 1950s and opened to the public in 1967.

The attraction is what inspired the popular film series with the same name.
