Weather warning for Brits going abroad in half-term as temperatures to hit 40C
A heatwave that is sweeping across south-east Europe could make conditions difficult for families planning to go abroad during the half-term holiday.
The Turkish resort of Antalya recorded the country's hottest day in October for 92 years after the mercury hit 41C at the weekend.
Greece and Cyprus are also witnessing extreme temperatures for the time of the year, with both pushing towards the 40C mark during the early days of this month.

It is anticipated that Cyprus will hover around the balmy 30C mark throughout autumn.
"Antalya experienced a historical day in terms of temperature," said meteorologist Yaser Turker. "Antalya Airport experienced the hottest October day since 1930 with 41.2C, which is also Turkey's October record."
The hot air is blowing in from Africa and Cyprus' Met Office issued a yellow weather warning last week.
It all means that any Brits planning an October school-holiday break at the popular destinations might run into problems with the heat, especially any families with young children.
The normal UK Foreign Office advice in relation to an overseas heatwave is to avoid the sun between 11am and 3pm, keep hydrated and wear loose clothing.
Such scorching conditions might not be a deterrent for British holidaymakers, however, with trips to Turkey now much less expensive than they were five years ago when £1 was worth 4.54 lira.

Now, £1 can be exchanged for 21.5 lira which, according to finance experts CashLady.com, makes the country 375% cheaper for UK tourists than it was in 2017.
Half-term in most schools will run during the two weeks from October 17 to October 28 and there are some bargains to be found out there.
A TUI sale has seen £200 slashed off all-inclusive couple holidays to Turkey with breaks available from £57 per person a night.
They are also offering last-minute, all-inclusive deals to Turkey from £363 per person, which represents a whopping saving of up to 50%.
