Queen ‘always hoped’ for Harry reconciliation – but King ‘decisive’ with snubs
Queen Elizabeth "always hoped" Prince Harry would make a royal return while King Charles has taken a more "decisive" stance against his son, it has been claimed.
The Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle quietly had their HRH titles removed on the official Royal Family website this week and have been moved further down the page's pecking order as they continue to distance themselves from the Firm.
Writing for the Daily Mail, commentator Richard Kay said the recently-anointed monarch had taken a stand where his late mother would not.

"For all his anguish about his youngest son, King Charles has been more decisive," Kay remarked.
"He evicted the couple from their Windsor property, Frogmore Cottage, and many detect his hand in the adjustments carried out to the royal website."
Meanwhile a source close to the Firm told the publication the late Queen never stopped wishing her estranged grandson and his wife would one day make up with their relatives.
"Her Majesty never stopped hoping there would be some kind of reconciliation and that the couple would return to the fold one day," the insider claimed.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal return 'a mere fairytale' after birthday snub'
Harry and Meghan left the Royal Family and relocated first to Canada, then to California, in 2020.
Since then their relationships with their families have remained fraught and the duo have attempted to carve out a new career for themselves, signing lucrative deals with the likes of Netflix and Spotify.
But after the pair's contract with Spotify was pulled earlier this month it was rumoured they could be looking at a move back to the UK and taking up their official duties once more.
"Harry and Meghan have secretly reached out to Harry’s brother, Prince William, to discuss the possibility of returning to the Royal Family," a source told InTouch Weekly.
It is unclear where the Royal Family stand on allowing the pair back to Buckingham Palace after their media successes focused squarely on slamming the institution and some of its members.
But the source guessed William would consider allowing Harry to rejoin the family.
They added: "He will agree to let Harry come back but not as a 'part-time royal'."
