Prince William and Kate to pay over £50k in fees at children’s new school
Prince William and Kate Middleton have confirmed that they will be moving to Windsor and that their three children will be moving schools.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will all start at Lambrook school near Bracknell in September.
In a statement, Kensington Palace said: “Their Royal Highnesses are hugely grateful to Thomas’s Battersea where George and Charlotte have had a happy start to their education since 2017 and 2019 respectively and are pleased to have found a school for all three of their children which shares a similar ethos and values to Thomas’s.”
The family will be moving to Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Home Park, where they will be closer to the Queen, who made the permanent move to Windsor Castle earlier this year.
As back to school season approaches, the three young royals will be preparing to start at their new school very soon, but the move won't come cheap with the private school charging some extortionate prices.
Where do Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis go to school?
Prince George and Princess Charlotte used to attend Thomas’s Battersea school in London, while Prince Louis attended Willcocks Nursery School.
Now, the three royal siblings will all be attending the same school together for the first time as they move to Lambrook School in the Berkshire countryside.
The prestigious school has 620 students and boasts 52 acres of grounds, including an orchard, nine hole gold course and "endless" sports pitches.
Jonathan Perry, headmaster at Lambrook School, said: "We are delighted that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will be joining us this coming September and very much look forward to welcoming the family, as well as all of our new pupils, to our school community."
How much does Lambrook School cost?
The fees for Lambrook school vary between £2,195 to £6,999 per term, getting higher with age.
At four years old, Prince Louis will be starting in Reception where fees are £4,389 per term.
Prince Charlotte will be heading into year three of the Lower School, where fees are £6,448 per term, while Prince George will be entering into year 5, which costs £6,999 per term.
With three terms in a year, this means that Kate and William will be forking out a total of £53,508 in school fees for their three children this year.
The school also offers boarding, which costs an eye-watering £1,481 per week.
