This is the bizarre moment a musician burst into song with a group of dancers behind him at London’s National Gallery for a TikTok video.

Footage of the flash mob shows talented singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot spontaneously break out into a performance of a song named ‘heaven’. Slowly he gains a choir and backing dancers behind him. 

A security guard tries to handle the situation, calling for back up and saying ‘all units to the main floor please’ – but Cian and his ‘band’ keep going. 

Visitors to the gallery appear baffled by what’s going on, and get closer to take a look. 

Viewers have been divided by the stunt, with one saying: ‘The self indulgence of this kind of thing. People just want to see some art.’

But others thought he was great and that ‘security should be encouraging positivity and talent like this!’

A security guard tried to intervene but they carried on singing and dancing

But Cian Ducrot sings to him as he later said he was ‘just trying to spread some joy’ 

Reviews have been mixed – one called it ‘self indulgence’ but another said it brought happiness

Cian Ducrot, who uploaded the video to TikTok wrote: ‘Just trying to spread some joy and music with art.’

He said: ‘I took a choir and dancers to the National Art Gallery until I got kicked out..’

Some who criticised the incident said ‘museums are typically quiet places to observe’ and that he should have listened to the security guard.  

Others didn’t see anything wrong with the act, saying it was an expression of art in itself and that ‘the world is too uptight’.  

One who commented on the video told him she loved his videos and that his songs have ‘such strong meaning and inspiration’.

MailOnline has contacted the National Gallery and representatives for Cian Ducrot for comment. 

The comments under the TikTok video were mixed – some loved the positive performance, but others thought it was not the right place
