In-custody death at Limon Correctional Facility ruled a homicide
A man who was serving time at a Colorado state prison in Lincoln County, south of Limon, was killed while in custody this month.
Paul Hack, whose age was not provided, died on Aug. 17 at the Limon Correctional Facility, and he was pronounced dead at 5:09 p.m., Lincoln County Coroner Andy Lorensen said.
The coroner’s office ruled his death a homicide but said the cause of the death is still pending. It’s unclear why or how long determining that will take.
The Colorado Department of Corrections has refused to provide any information about the incident and did not publicly report the homicide, citing an ongoing investigation by the Colorado Department of Correction’s Inspector General’s Office. The incident led to restrictions in the facility, which were lifted on Tuesday.
