Artist charging £6k for ‘art’ which is just McDonald’s pickle thrown at ceiling
An Australian artist is charging people around £6,000 for something they can pick up at home for about 50p.
Matthew Griffin debuted his new works – called Pickle – on July 7, and it has caused anger and confused in the art world.
For it is literally just a single slice of a McDonalds pickle chucked onto a ceiling.

The ceiling of choice is a white, freshly painted one at gallery space in New Zealand.
The show where the pickle was closed on July 30, with nobody shelling out the £6,000 asking price for it.
If they had, they would have been even more annoyed to find that they didn't get the pickle in question – which somehow stayed stuck to the ceiling for an entire month.
They would have got instructions on “how to recreate the art in their own home”.
Oddly, Griffin posted an image of the art on his Instagram page, and claimed that the “medium” he used to create the work of art contained around 40 different items.

Yeah, it's an ingredient list for a McDonald's cheeseburger.
One person on Instagram wrote: “I got kicked out of a McDonalds by the police for doing this when I was a teenager, now it’s art.”
Well, at least it wasn't an NFT of a pickle.
