Anas Sarwar launched a blistering attack on Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP, suggesting he thinks the party is “irrational” and “unhinged”. Speaking at the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool, he hit out at Scottish nationalism, saying “there is nothing progressive” about it. The Scottish Labour leader continued: “Independence goes against the values of solidarity.
“I think it’s an ideology based on what divides us and not what unites us.”
Hitting out at the SNP, Scottish Labour’s primary opponent, Mr Sarwar said: “The occupiers of Downing Street and Bute House know the clock is ticking.
“So, let’s be prepared for what lies ahead.
“In the coming months and years, our opponents will get more desperate.
“Their tone more irrational. Their attacks on us more unhinged.
“That is because they know, what we know…the next electoral contest will not be a referendum, it will be a General Election.”
