Hurricane Ida has been growing in intensity over the last few days, and is now imminently about to make landfall in Louisiana. The Category 4 storm has prompted authorities to make a desperate plea to the public, urging them to remain indoors at all costs.

Thousands of Louisiana locals are fleeing the US state with the imminent arrival of Hurricane Ida.
Ida is a major storm that’s been intensifying over the Gulf of Mexico.
It’s expected to bring a life-threatening storm surge, and is also likely to be even more powerful that the infamous 2005 Hurricane Katrina.
The National Weather Service New Orleans tweeted on Sunday afternoon: “If you are sheltering in place, go to an interior room of your house.
“Prepare to hunker down for the next 24 hours. Conditions will be worsening throughout the day as #Ida makes landfall!
“DO NOT, we repeat, DO NOT, go outside during this time! Stay in place. #mswx #lawx.”
