VETERAN rapper Dr Dre suffered serious heartbreak after the death of his son Andre Young Jr.
The rap legend's 20-year-old son was found dead inside his California home.
Here's more on the death of the musician and entrepreneur's third child.
When did Dr Dre's son die?
Dre's son died on August 23, 2008 from an overdose of heroine and morphine, according to the Los Angeles County coroner.
His mother discovered in his bed at around 10:30am that morning, and although she called paramedics, they were unable to revive her son.
Young was pronounced dead at the scene.
Representatives for Dre confirmed his death, saying in a statement: "Dr Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr. Please respect his family's grief and privacy at this time."
In January 2009, Coroner spokesman Larry Dietz told PEOPLE Young's death was ruled an accident "due to morphine and heroin intoxication."
The results of his toxicology report had been pending for four months.
How old was he?
Young tragically died at the age of 20.
Does Dr Dre have other kids?
Dre has fathered seven children throughout the years.
He first became a dad while still in high school, to a son named Curtis, whom he didn't meet until the boy was 20 years old.
Curtis' sister, Tyra, was born shortly after.
Another of his high school relationships produced a daughter, La Tonya.
Dre also had a relationship with singer Michel'le, which yielded a son named Marcel.
In the late 1980s, he and Jenita Porter birthed Andre Young Jr.
In 1996, Dre and Nicole Threatt married and had two children: a son named Truice and a daughter named Truly.
Is he getting a divorce?
In July, Nicole Young (nee Threatt) filed for divorce from Dre in Los Angeles County Superior Court after 24 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
The soon-to-be exes are now embroiled in a legal battle over spousal support.
Nicole is requesting roughly $2million for temporary spousal support and an additional $5million in lawyer feeds.
She claimed he "could lose a portion" of his $1billion fortune in their divorce because he allegedly "tore up" their prenup after he felt bad for pressuring her into signing it.
Dre is reportedly worth an estimated $200 million after he sold his headphones brand Beats by Dre to Apple in 2014 for $3billion.
