Frexit campaigner Charles-Henri Gallios insisted that Europeans must be aware there can be a Europe without the European Union. While speaking to Brexit Unlocked hosts and former Brexit Party MEPs Martin Daubney and Belinda De Lucy, Mr Gallios argued France should push to leave the European Union. He noted the EU does not deal with complaints and grievances from member states constructively and continuously pushes for more control over member states.

Mr Gallios: “The EU has never asked the French people or in other countries if they wanted to stay in the European Union.

“We have never had a referendum about whether we want to stay or not.

“It is always, ‘do you want more European Union?'”

Mr Gallios joked the European Union was behaving like the dissolved Russian State the USSR with their determination for more integration into member states.

He said: “The EU works a bit like the USSR because in the USSR when you say there are some issues, let’s talk about it.

“They will reply, ‘you are right comrade, there are issues but they are there because we have not gone far enough in socialism’.

“With the European Union it is the same when you tell them things are not working.”

Mr Gallios noted the two regimes are not the same but have a similar way of dealing with some issues.

He added he believed Europe could benefit perfectly fine without the European Union.

He said: “I am glad to be here today because we can show the European people that there is Europe without the European Union.

“The European people have to be aware of one crucial thing.

“It is not just because you want to leave that means you want to be alone, that is project fear.

“It is that you have European cooperation before the European Union and you will have it afterwards.”

Mr Gallios closed by insisting the European Union was fearful of Britain thriving through Brexit as it could spark more Euroscepticism.

He praised the two Brexit Unlocked hosts and thanked them for their work as Brexit Party MEPs.

Closing with a joke that the EU’s chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier was not indeed French but a European Union guy.
