Mr Wheeler added: ‘The house is in this beautiful parkland setting and has an incredible walled garden but it’s not acres of manicured garden you have to maintain, a lot of it takes care of itself.

‘It has two magnificent restored greenhouses with lots of fruit and vegetables growing and an orchard, so you could be quite self-sufficient there.

‘Our clients were attracted to it architecturally. Their vision was to restore it and bring it into the 21st century but maintaining all that lovely character.

‘It does feel quite historical and is just a beautiful space.’
