I’m sure it’s happened to you more than once.
You’re watching a series and you notice your eyelids are closing. Hours later, you wake up startled to a huge spoiler of your favorite series.
Yes, it’s true that on many platforms playback stops after three episodes, but in the realm of series that’s a long time and anything can happen.
If you’ve been bitterly disappointed by the unintentional surprise of a spoiler just because you overslept, you’re sure to love this new feature: Netflix is testing a timer that lets you set a specific time to turn it off so you don’t skip something revealing from Lupin or Bridgerton, for example.
7 movies that are shaping up to be nominated for Oscar 2021 and you can watch on Netflix.
Mind you, sadly the feature is in the testing phase and is only available on select Android devices. Depending on how successful it is, Netflix will eventually release it on iOS, computers, and maybe even Smart TVs.
The feature will let you set four timeslots: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 45 minutes after the episode being played.
How to set the timer on Netflix
If you are one of the lucky ones who have this feature, you can find it as follows:
- Start playing your favorite movie or series.
- Now, in the top right corner tap Timer.
- Finally, select the time slot for when you want to stop playing that content.
Once you have done this, you’ll know how to activate the timer on Netflix and you’ll be able to fall asleep without fear of coming across any possible spoilers.
