Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia: the turnover of crypto-currencies in the country requires mandatory regulation

Once again, in relation to the crypto currency, the main power department expressed its opinion.

It is noteworthy that on behalf of the department, the head of the Main Directorate for Drug Control of the Ministry of the Interior of Russia, Andrei Khrapov, stated that he believes that it is necessary to regulate the turnover of crypto-currencies in Russia.

It should be recalled that even in the days of the existence of the State Drug Control Service, it was the head of this department who first spoke about the use of crypto-currency in the drug trade.

To date, nothing new has been invented and again the same words sound. According to Khrapov, crypto currency is actively used for money laundering. It is the anonymity and transnationality of the crypto-currency, taking into account the active development of the shadow Internet, that create a favorable environment for the transfer and laundering of criminal capital.

"In this regard, I believe it necessary to support the legislative initiative of the Central Bank, which involves regulating the procedure for the circulation of the crypto currency in the Russian Federation," the Interior Ministry spokesman said.

In this case, no statistics on the participation of crypto currency in criminal transactions were not announced.

In my opinion, the Ministry of Internal Affairs again plays an old but proven card, telling about another scarecrow about the drug trade and laundering the criminally extracted capitals. Personally, from my point of view, it is outdated and not at all professional. Putting the cornerstone of the position will not be the crypto-currency – there will be no criminality of the siloviki as a matter of fact they signify in their own unprofessionalism.

Because drugs and money laundering existed long before the advent of crypto currency. And personally I'm not worried about how the seller paid a kilogram of heroin, but how this kilogram came to my city and is sold. But why then the question put in this vein always causes our security officials to stupor.
