Block-start-up Circle acquired the crypto-exchange exchange Poloniex

Goldman Sachs, the company that funded the start-up of Circle, acquired the American currency exchange Poloniex, Circle itself reported this today. This step is aimed at consolidating the position of Blockchain-startup as the leading company in the world of Blockchain technology.

"We are proud to announce that Circle has expanded its vision of global finance by acquiring Polonex, the leading token exchange platform", – said the founders Sean Neville and Jeremy Allayer in a message on the company's website.

The Boston Circle project manages its peer-to-peer payment network, based on applications using Blockchain, this technology first appeared with the Bitcoin crypto currency. In addition, Circle is one of the leading players in the over-the-counter Bitcoin trading market.

At the moment it is one of the most financed Blockchain start-ups, its investors include Goldman Sachs Group Inc and Baidu Inc.

Polonex is one of the world's largest virtual currency and token markets.
