French bitcoin marketplace Paymium is planning to launch a cryptocurrency trading platform in Europe.
Founded in 2011, Paymium claims to be the first European bitcoin marketplace that complies with French and EU requirements for money transfer services. It offers trading between bitcoin and EUR. Since its inception, the company has raised over $2.5 million from Xavier Niel’s investment fund KIMA Ventures, Newfund, Galitt, BPI France and from angel investors.
The crypto trading platform, called Blockchain.io, will offer a bridge between different blockchains where exchanges can take place safely and transparently. Initial coin offering tokens will be listed on the trading platform only after a thorough technical audit and compliance review.
“With users of a digital token becoming ambassadors of the underlying network, ICOs provide not only an innovative project financing mechanism, but also a powerful marketing platform,” the company said. “To ensure a smooth user experience across multiple currencies, blockchain.io aims to be the most reliable market place where these currencies and tokens will be traded safely.”
Pierre Noizat, CEO of Paymium and Blockchain.io, said that communities around the world are creating their own currencies, expressing a new form of sovereignty and contributing to the construction of the Internet of Value. He added that the goal of the platform is to offer the simplest access to the Internet of Value by allowing people to trade seamlessly between multiple cryptocurrencies.
