Tiago Massimo, a Portuguese shoemaker, is the owner of a small shoe store in Barcelona, Spain. His traditional method of producing handmade shoes goes into deep family roots to ancestors. However, such an old and family business contrasts well with its latest payment options, which include the Bitcoin crypto currency.
Traders accepting Bitcoin still face problems
Urban Shepherds, the brand of traditional Portuguese boots, has its only store in Barcelona. With the increasing popularity of crypto currency, Massimo became interested in new trends. According to him:
"The concept and philosophy underlying the crypto currency is amazing, and it makes sense. And I think that for this there are needs in the market. Moreover, now there is a huge demand for virtual currencies ".
Despite the fact that he takes Bitcoin on the Internet, most of the company's sales come from a physical store. Massimo, however, says that he would like to receive a percentage of his sales in the crypto currency.
Massimo claims that there are two key issues in running this business:
"The fluctuation of the value of the crypto currency and the time that the transactions occupy are the two main problems at the moment."
