Bitcoin, like other crypto-currencies, is not recognized in Iran. The Central Bank has never recognized them as a currency within the borders of the Islamic Republic and did not make deals in them, – the statement was distributed to the Iranian state financial management system by a financial regulator.

The central bank also rejected as unreasonable, data on the participation in the sales and transactions of crypto-currencies, reports IFPnews.
"Wild fluctuations of digital currencies along with competitive business activities carried out within the framework of network marketing and pyramid schemes made the market of these currencies extremely unreliable and risky," the Central Bank said in a statement.
The central bank also warned Iranian citizens of the high risks of investing in the unstable market of crypto-currency, saying that they "may lose their financial assets."
Recall, at the end of last year it was reported that the Iranian government plans to launch a national crypto-currency infrastructure.
