Beginning today, you can sign up to have Walmart automatically drop off a box of clothing for your children every month.
The chain is teaming up with the company KIDBOX for a subscription service that will create and deliver packages of kids’ clothing and accessories tailored to your child’s taste. Stylists will also make sure the items are appropriate for the time of year, and the area where your family lives.
Subscription services have become a popular option in the age of Amazon, enabling shoppers to have goods ranging from meals to makeup delivered on a regular basis. Walmart also offers a quarterly subscription for a beauty box filled with samples. But the Walmart KIDBOX will be its first subscription box focused on children’s fashion.
Here’s how the new service will work.
How do I get started?
At Walmart.com, shoppers will answer questions about their child’s size, style (Is she classic preppy or more sporty athletic? Is he city cool or modern casual?) Other questions include whether they need more of a particular type of clothing, outfits for school versus dress clothes, for instance, and any colors or styles that they really don’t like. A stylist will select the mix of items based on your choices.
Do I have to sign up for a full year?
Customers can opt for a one-time delivery, or sign up for additional boxes to be sent up to six months. The cost is $48 for each box.
Can I change the sizing?
Absolutely. Parents can tweak the sizing within their online account settings whenever they want.

Can we return what we don’t like?
Yes. Shoppers can make returns through their online account and get the full $48 back. But you have to send back the entire box, not pick certain items to keep, and others to return.
What kind of brands are available?
There will be more than 120, including Puma and BCBG.
